I got a chuckle out of this question. Since dating has other meanings. I'm sure the person asking the question wants to know what date goes on a binder that is used for closing. The closing officer schedules an appointment with you for a date in the near future when you will be asked to come in to their office to sign loan documents. That is the date you should ask your agent to put on the binder. Sometimes the closing date may change. The officer might get sick. There might be a delay in gathering up inspections and other documents required by the lender to approve the loan. Some natural disaster might occur like an ice or snow storm or an earthquake. If that happens, the agent can issue a new binder with a new date once the closing date has been scheduled.
