The face page of an insurance policy is also known as the declarations page. Face page is more commonly used in life insurance policies where it describes the policy period, type of policy, name of the insured, the beneficiary and the death benefit. If we are talking property and casualty type policies, the more common term is declarations page. That document contains all the detail of what is covered for property or liability. It names the insured, declares the property values and limits and sets the effective and expiration date of the policy. It might also list form numbers of the policy and endorsements that are attached behind it. The face page or declarations page usually sit right on top of all the contract pages so it's easy to find.
